History of Polyphonic Music on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic01.11.2023On the occasion of the centennial of the Republic of Türkiye, DMEDD organised "An Evening of Music and Folk Dance" on the historic main stage of the Museum of Painting and Sculpture with the attendance of more than 300 guests, including representatives of foreign missions in Ankara on 11th of November. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic, and the martyrs who have passed away were remembered with respect. Following the opening speeches by Prof. Dr. Şebnem Akçapar, 43rd Chairperson of the Board of Directors of DMEDD and Mr. Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event continued with a musical recital of Atatürk's most favourite songs and folk dance performances. The soloists Nahide Saygun Akkal and Turgut Karadeniz performed beautiful songs, while the Ankara State Modern Dance Ensemble under the direction of Soner Satı delighted the guests with traditional dances.
